Inspired by our newest listing (2317 Mono Avenue), we are highlighting one of the most delightful neighborhoods in the inner East Bay!
There’s a neighborhood in north El Cerrito (north and south of Barrett Avenue, east of Key Blvd, and circling Poinsett Park) where you’ll find a diverse mix of architectural gems. Craftsman (1910-1930), Storybook (1920’s-1930’s), Revivalism (Spanish Revival or Tutor Revival), and Mid-Century (1950-1965) homes pepper the gentle hills.
Since the turn of the century, folks have flocked to this pocket because of its “goldilocks” characteristics…not too high up but has views, walkable to retail and BART but feels quaint and tony, near parks and a swift drive up to Tilden.
Chevron executives and the higher-up’s from the Richmond refinery built their dream homes in this neighborhood. Sprawling homes with wood-beam ceilings, wrought iron, decorative flourishes, and space for large family gatherings. It’s a wonder what large, mature trees will do to make a place feel regal.
We happen to know of several homes getting prepared for sale in the next 3-5 months so if this neighborhood is interesting for you, let us know! We’ll keep an eye out for you.
